Lewis Barbecue Atlanta

You smell that? Well, if you don’t, you need to…

This barbecue joint just moved into it’s new home off of the Beltline at Ansley Mall in Atlanta. The former retail spaces that were hard to find are being transformed into the home of world class pit-master John Lewis’ new Atlanta location.

The two ground level spaces make up nearly 7,000 SF of restaurant and bar space. The exterior breezeway will connect the Beltline to Ansley Mall, but if you’re smart, you’ll stop in to taste some incredible food and enjoy the perfect vibes.

But where are the smokers, you ask? Well, we didn’t have space on the ground level, so we elevated them to sit above the existing restaurant space. That’s right, these six 1,000 gallon offset smokers will be sitting on a platform smokehouse (don’t act like you’ve seen that before) that’s about 4,000 more square feet.

The restaurant side takes inspiration from an old school Texas dance hall, with the serving line acting as the “stage” because let’s be honest, that’s where the show is.

The bar side takes you back in time to a 1960s Texas Motor lodge, where you check in and then sit down to enjoy world class BBQ and wash it down with delightful libations.

Lewis Barbecue Atlanta opened to the public in December of 2025.
